Diabetes is one of the most challenging health disorders, the world is dealing with. Once affected with, it creeps slowly into the body disturbing various parts.  The scientists at National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) in Hyderabad, India led by senior scientist of Ocular Biochemistry Department  Dr. G. Bhanuprakash Reddy are doing researches on the ways to prevent spreading of diabetes and to reduce it's influence on the body and the recommended diet for diabetic patients.

The scientists at NIN have conducted studies on turmeric, ginger, black pepper, cinnamon and gooseberry, to find the molecules in these foods that control diabetes. Each particle of these foods contain about 20 to 30 molecules, which are tested on the animals that have diabetes and the results  are magnificiant according to the study. For example Glucogallin is the molecule present in gooseberry that prevents diabetes and we have found all the molecules in these 5 foods that reduce diabetes said Dr. G Bhanuprakash Reddy. However he added that the exact required amount of these foods to lower or prevent diabetes is yet to be found and the transformation of these molecules into medicinal form is under process. This can take about 3 years.
